Special Forces will soon have a multifunctional center in Zall-Herr

TIRANA, September 28/ATA/ The forces of the Special Operations Unit in Zall-Herr will soon have the multifunctional center, the works for which are currently 80% completed.

Minister of Defense Pirro Vengu together with the American Defense Attaché to Albania Eric Cote inspected the works being carried out in this building, the construction of which started in April 2023 and is expected to be completed according to the plan in June next year.

The commander of Special Operations Unit, Lieutenant Colonel Ajet Jata spoke about the details of this project. They also visited the facilities of the gym and the boat barn, which are already operational.

During the inspection, Vengu stated that, “Special Forces are a national capacity and the weight of responsibility is greater to deal with very specific operations”.

“You have had a very good track record in terms of personnel certification according to NATO standards, even beyond expectations. We need to support this dedication of your staff not only from the point of view of treatment in salary and working difficulties, not only in infrastructure, as the investments will continue here, but also in terms of the logistics tools they use”, said Vengu.

The Special Operations Unit in Zall-Herr has been undergoing restructure in stages for several years. The multifunctional building will have a capacity for about 400 special forces.

Also, it will have a modern firing ground for shooting with light weapons. There are also planned areas for the spare time. This building will also have a special hall for communication with the NATO.

The Special Operations Unit continues intensive training as part of the exercises for the national evaluation according to the “SOLTG” which will take place at the beginning of October 2024.
