Another bicycle lane is added to Tirana, making the movement of citizens on a bike safer.
Mayor of Tirana Erion Veliaj posted in the social media photos of the new lane built from the bridge on Elbasani St to the intersection of 9-floor complex of buildings, connecting it to the existing network of bicycle lanes.
During the last eight years, there has been a greater interest of the citizens in the use of bicycles as a means of movement in the city of Tirana. This development has come as a result of changes in urban infrastructure, as well as the positive impact of awareness on environment and health benefits.
The municipality has also created special bicycle lanes in the city, offering an excellent alternative for citizens who want to avoid traffic and contribute to reducing air pollution. Many citizens have chosen to use the bicycle as their favorite means of going to work, school or shopping in the city center.
With positive developments in bicycle infrastructure and increased awareness of environmental and health issues, this positive trend will most likely continue to grow in the coming months and years.
