Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – At a meeting with Montenegrin Prime Minister Milojko Spajic, Japanese Minister of Economy Kiuchi Minoru said that there was significant potential to enhance bilateral cooperation between Montenegro and Japan in the fields of economy, science, and innovation.
“Japan and Montenegro share the values of democracy and the rule of law, and in the areas of economy, science, and innovation, there is vast potential for strengthening bilateral cooperation,” he told Spajic, who is on his first official visit to Japan.
He added that, from a geographical perspective, Montenegro was important to both Europe and Japan, adding that Japan strongly supported Montenegro’s efforts to strengthen its economy and improve its position internationally.
Spajic expressed satisfaction with the visit and the interest shown by Japanese investors, noting the potential for intensified contacts in the coming period.
Since most Japanese companies based in Europe are headquartered in London and Vienna, the two officials agreed that one of these cities would host a Japan–Montenegro business forum by the end of the year. The forum is expected to stimulate further contacts and economic exchange between the two countries.
