Albania is becoming a destination for elite tourism as well.

The General Maritime Directorate reported that 25 cruise ships and 1,657 yachts have entered the country’s ports since the beginning of the year, that of Durrës, Vlora, Saranda and Shëngjin.

The port of Durrës received 2 cruises and 115 yachts, that of Vlora 8 cruises and 179 yachts, the port of Saranda 15 cruises and 1257 yachts while 106 yachts were anchored in the port of Shëngjin.

INSTAT data show that almost 5.2 million foreign citizens visited Albania during the 7 months of this year, recording an increase of 30.6% compared to the same period of 2022.

During the seven-month period of the current year, the region with the highest number of foreign nationals entering Albania is the European region with about 5 million citizens, followed by America, East Asia and the Pacific, respectively with 131,236 and 34,372 citizens.
