Tourism Minister to Diplomatic Corps Representatives: Bulgaria Is Ready for Calm and Safe Summer

Caretaker Tourism Minister Evtim Miloshev hosted a working breakfast with representatives of the diplomatic corps in Bulgaria on Saturday, his ministry said in a press release. “As institutions, we are ready for a calm and safe summer. The Ministry of Tourism, our institutions and control bodies are always open for assistance, so do not hesitate to turn to us,” Miloshev told those in attendance.

The working breakfast was held in relation to the opening of the summer tourist season. Attending were President Rumen Radev, his secretary for education, culture, and tourism Ilin Dimitrov, caretaker Health Minister Galya Kondeva, European Commission Representation in Bulgaria head Yordanka Chobanova, ambassadors, and diplomats from over 20 foreign missions.

In Miloshev’s words, tourism is an emotional product. The State will work towards tourists feeling both safe and filled with good emotions.

During the breakfast, all in attendance had the opportunity to try traditional Bulgarian products.

Data of the European Travel Commission show that in January-March 2024, Bulgaria topped the list in Europe for growth in tourist numbers compared to 2019: up by 39% from January-March 2019.
