The ‘Run for Autism’ mini-marathon is held, helping to raise awareness in society

Today, a 5 km humanitarian mini-marathon with the motto “Run for Autism” is being held in the capital. This activity was evaluated as influencing the increase of awareness in society while it was emphasized that people with autism should have as much support as possible from everyone.

The diplomatic choir is also participating in this sensitizing activity.

The EU Ambassador in Kosovo, Tomas Szunyog, expresses his happiness that he and the European Union are part of the mini-marathon “Run for Autism”.

He said that he likes to support such activities and hopes that the activity will be successful.

“I’m happy to be here in this kind of mini-marathon and I’m happy that also European Union in Kosovo is part of this. I think that it kind of demonstrates that we do care about integration of minorities into society and this is exactly the kind of activities which we actually like to support. So I hope we are lucky with the weather and I hope the event will be successful. And again it’s important to have more of things like that” he said.

Ambassador Nancy Soderberg, director of NDI in Kosovo, said that it is important to have a race for people with autism, to raise awareness.

She called today a wonderful day.

Whereas, the organizer of the mini-marathon, Burim Krasniqi, said that in addition to the institutions, this year there are also participants from the diplomatic choir.

According to him, all the money collected from the sale of numbers for participation in the mini-marathon will be donated to children with autism.

He said that they had no support from the government.
