The project implemented by the municipality of Prishtina “Prishtina without asbestos” was presented. The main objective of this project is asbestos planning and management to protect the environment and public health from asbestos fibres.

Meanwhile, in the following days, the online platform “Prishtina without asbestos” will be launched, this platform will hold information, locations and figures of the amount of asbestos in the capitals. All citizens will have access to this platform to address the location of asbestos in public and private facilities. Also, this platform will also serve to obtain information on asbestos research and removal.

The mayor of Prishtina municipality, Përparim Rama, said that asbestos is a dangerous material and that all neighborhoods of Prishtina and various objects have been analyzed to find asbestos in the capital. He said all areas containing asbestos will be treated.

Mayor Rama added that when the online platform “Prishtina without asbestos” will be launched, citizens will be able to provide the address to start treatment for asbestos.

Meanwhile, the leader of this project, professor of chemistry, Lulzim Zeneli, said that even though Prishtina has a large amount of asbestos in the capital, it managed to deal with it in a proper and fast way.

Zeneli emphasized that the neighborhoods with the most asbestos are Ulpiana, Arbëria and the RTK facility.

Moreover, the chemistry professor, Zeneli, explained the online platform “Prishtina without asbestos”, he said that on this platform all citizens will be able to be informed about the treatment of asbestos, as well as they can address the locations in which areas there is asbestos.
