The French Embassy in cooperation with the Jahjaga Foundation, the Center for Social Group Development, (CSGD) and the Center of Equality, and Liberty (CEL) has today launched the project of equality for all together.
This project entitled “Defending the right to be yourself” aims to fight against these divisive anti-gender and anti-LGBT+ movements within an approach to social harmony.
The French Ambassador to Kosovo, Olivier Guerot, raised concerns about anti-gender and anti-LGBT+ movements, for which he emphasized that the French state is committed to standing against these movements.
Ambassador Guerot emphasized that this project, which is being launched today, aims to provide more financial support to prevent discrimination against these categories in society.
The former president of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga stated that this project aims to oppose anti-gender and anti-LGBT+ movements.
She emphasized that despite the fact that Kosovo has made progress in terms of legislation, applicability remains a challenge.
Arbër Nuhiu, on behalf of three organizations, the Jahjaga Foundation, CSGD and CEL, said that in recent years, several movements have been raised which are against gender equality, including the LGBT+ community.
According to Nuhiu, this project is a response to these movements and a message that such movements cannot win in Europe.
Throughout this project, the Jahjaga Foundation, the Center for Social Group Development, (CSGD) and the Center of Equality, and Liberty (CEL) will develop various activities to fight this discrimination and protect everyone’s rights.
