The Operator for Renewable Energy Sources and Efficient Cogeneration (OIEiEK Operator) conducted a survey on the interest of citizens of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in potential investments in the construction of solar power plants, in which 494 respondents participated by filling out an electronic questionnaire.
The purpose of this survey of FBiH citizens was to collect data on interest in investing in construction, that is, to collect data on the views of citizens of the Federation on one-time financial support for the construction of solar power plants – prosumer, which represents one of the new responsibilities of the Operator for OIEiEK resulting from the new Act on the Use of Renewable Energy Sources and Efficient Cogeneration, and the Report on the results of the research is available on the website www.oiieek.ba, the Operator for OIEiEK announced.
The results show that the interest of the surveyed citizens in the construction of solar power plants is high, as 97.3 percent of the surveyed citizens of the FBiH expressed interest in the construction of the aforementioned power plants.
According to the opinion of the surveyed citizens, the greatest interest in the construction of these power plants was expressed in the area of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton (19.8 percent), followed by Sarajevo Canton (19.6 percent) and Zenica-Doboj Canton (16.1 percent).
The OIEiEK Operator will take over the responsibility for the implementation of one-time co-financing of the construction of prosumer facilities from the household category, so the views of citizens on this type of co-financing were also extremely important for the Operator.
Thus, 99 percent of respondents are determined to build a solar power plant if they were provided with a one-time financial support subsidy in a certain percentage amount of the investment value.
As the biggest obstacles to investing in the construction of solar power plants, the surveyed citizens pointed out the lack of financial resources, as well as unclear and complicated procedures for obtaining the necessary permits, and the long process of dealing with the requests of the relevant institutions.
