The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) today launched a new line of credit for local banks for further lending to small and medium-sized enterprises within the SME Go Green program, with the support of the EU.

Through this program, businesses will have opportunities for investments in the green economy, including investments in energy efficiency, renewable energy and resource efficiency, contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gases.

Describing it as an important project for the EBRD, Sergiy Maslichenko, head of the EBRD in Kosovo, the Go Green Project is an essential instrument for investments in renewable energy in Kosovo.

He emphasized how the EBRD has helped Kosovo a lot to create energy independence and security.

The Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli emphasized that the SME Go Green program enables the sustainability of medium and small enterprises.

Among other things, Rizvanolli emphasized that Kosovo is already working towards a green future and there is no turning back.

Johannes Stenbak Madsen, Head of Cooperation at the EU Office in Kosovo, emphasized that they are committed to helping the Kosovar economy with renewable energy.

He said that the SME Go Green program aims to help businesses in Kosovo in reducing pollution and their sustainability.

So far, 156 businesses have benefited from this project, and over 80% of the beneficiaries are outside Prishtina.
