Spajic: We are starting the construction of a road for faster connection with Albania

Podgorica, (MINA) – The reconstruction of the regional road Bar – Kamenicki most – Krute will enable a faster and safer connection with the Sukobin border crossing point with Albania, as well as a better connectedness with the communities in Bar and Ulcinj, Prime Minister Milojko Spajic has said.

He formalized on Thursday the beginning of the reconstruction of the 14-kilometer route together with the Minister of Transport Maja Vukicevic, Director of the Traffic Administration Radomir Vuksanovic and the mayors of Bar and Ulcinj, Dusan Raicevic and Genci Nimanbegu.

According to the press release from the Government, he underscored that almost three million people cross the border at the Sukobin border crossing point.

“If we keep that in mind, without taking into consideration the interests of the local communities, which need a better and more efficient connectedness with Bar and Ulcinj, and of course with Podgorica, it is clear that this project is profitable”, Spajic added.

Vukicevic said that the reconstruction of this extremely important regional road is finally starting, adding that it will significantly relieve traffic on the Bar-Ulcinj stretch.

Raicevic said that this road deserves the epithet of the road of friendship and unity.

He thanked everyone who contributed to the beginning of the works, especially the local community and diaspora.

Nimanbegu said that this is a significant day for the municipalities of Ulcinj, Bar and the country, thanking everyone who made this happen.
