S&P: Montenegro’s outlook upgraded

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to the Ministry of Finance, the credit rating agency Standard&Poor’s has upgraded Montenegro’s outlook from “stable” to “positive”, while maintaining its rating at B/B.

“According to S&P’s methodology, taking into account economic trends and fiscal results characterized as positive in the report, the revised outlook for Montenegro’s credit rating is a sign of positive developments in the country’s economy, as well as positive expectations for the future,” stated a press release issued by the Ministry.

S&P’s outlook is based on the potential credit rating in the medium and long term.

“When forecasting the rating, all changes in economic, political, fiscal, and other conditions are taken into account,” the Ministry stated.

The outlook upgrade to “positive” indicates the possibility of the country’s credit rating increase in the medium and long term.

According to the Ministry, the outlook upgrade to “positive” reflects the potential for further strengthening of Montenegro’s fiscal results during this and the next year.
