The Geological Survey Department has recorded seven small earthquakes, three of which were felt by residents of the Limassol and Paphos districts. The earthquakes were recorded in the sea area of the Limassol District, south of the Pissouri community.
In a press release, the Department says that since Saturday morning a seismic sequence has been underway in the specific sea area, noting that this is a sequence with more than seven small earthquakes, three of which were felt by residents of the Limassol and Paphos districts and had magnitudes of M=3.3, (89706/event) M=3.6 (89704/event) and M=3.7 (89705/event) on the Richter Scale, in chronological order.
The Seismological Center of the Geological Survey Department states that it is monitoring the phenomenon and publishes relevant information on the seismic parameters, and interactive maps, etc. on its website www.gsd-seismology.org.cy.
