SD and LP support joining a broad political alliance

The Social Democrats (SD) and the Liberal Party (LP) supported on Thursday a proposal for the formation of a broad political alliance between the two parties, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and non-partisan associations, independent intellectuals and civil activists.

The LP stated that the alliance would bring together progressive forces in order to offer a clear alternative on the local political scene and address the citizens’ declining trust in politics.

The alliance, the LP said, would focus on European integration, economy, education, social welfare and realistic improvement of the living standards of every individual.

SD President Damir Sehovic said that the alliance would bring together those who have, for decades, been sincere promoters of civic, statehood-building and Euro-Atlantic values. Its political mission will be to help achieve a new social consensus and compromise.
