Podgorica, (MINA) – Montenegro is doing everything it should on the EU membership path, said European Parliament Rapporteur for Montenegro, Marjan Šarec, during a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Aleks Becic and Minister of Interior Danilo Šaranović in Brussels.
According to the Government press release, Becic and Šaranović began a three-day visit to Brussels, meeting with Šarec on Wednesday.
Šarec said that Montenegro is doing everything it should on its EU path.
“The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) is fulfilling its duties, the Ministry of Defense is meeting its obligations, Montenegro remains a committed NATO member and I am pleased to see the country’s significant progress”, said Šarec.
Becic pointed out that Montenegro is on the right track.
He said that Montenegro is determined to direct all capacities towards further dynamizing the European path with the goal of becoming the 28th EU member in 2028. Šaranović said that the MUP, as the leader of the integration process in the area of the rule of law, has a key role in implementing reforms and strengthening the capacities of crime-fighting institutions.
