Sakellaropoulou: The Mediterranean countries should respond in a coordinated way for the reversal of the climate crisis

The President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou addressing on Tuesday the Bled Strategic Forum in Slovenia said that there is no time to waste. “All the Mediterranean countries should respond in a coordinated way and take part in a collective effort for the reversal of the repercussions of the climate crisis”.
Sakellaropoulou along with the President of Slovenia Nataša Pirc Musar, the President of Moldova Maia Sandu and the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Dunja Mijatović, took part in the Bled Strategic Forum’s panel on the challenges that the young are facing today.
Regarding the Western Balkans’ accession to the European Union, Sakellaropoulou repeated her strong conviction that the integration of the specific region to EU  constitutes a mutually beneficial investment of strategic importance.
Referring to Greece, she said that the brain drain trend has worsened during the economic crisis that the country experienced a few years ago. She also expressed her optimism for the reversal of this trend and the return of a large part of those who were forced to leave the country in order for the country of the brain drain to become the country of the brain gain.
