Sahmanovic: Energy sector is Montenegro’s greatest development opportunity

Abu Dabi, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to Minister of Energy and Mining Admir Sahmanovic, the energy sector is Montenegro’s greatest development opportunity, and a driving force that can fuel economic growth, create jobs, and ensure long-term stability.

“Montenegro undeniably has potential and natural resources, but we are aware of financial constraints. Investments in major infrastructure projects in the energy sector are measured in hundreds of millions of euros, which requires strong partnerships and pooling of resources,” Sahmanovic said at a meeting with Chief Executive Officer of Masdar, Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi.

Sahmanovic stated that, for Montenegro to achieve its goals in the energy sector, it needs carefully selected strategic partners who share the vision and are ready to invest in a sustainable and strong energy sector.

The Ministry of Energy announced that opportunities for further enhancing cooperation and developing new projects in Montenegro were discussed at the meeting.

Sahmanovic said that the existing cooperation with Masdar, one of the world’s leading companies in the field of renewable energy, through the Krnovo wind farm, provides a solid foundation on which stronger and more ambitious projects can be built in the future.

Al Ramahi noted that the company has the capital, knowledge, and readiness for significant expansion of its operations in Eastern Europe, with Montenegro holding a priority place in its investment plans.

Sahmanovic reaffirmed Government’s commitment to creating a favorable business environment through clear procedures, a stable regulatory framework, and more efficient administration, in order to provide investors with security and predictability.
