Renaud-Basso visits Montenegro

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Odile Renaud-Basso will come to an official visit to Montenegro on Wednesday.

Renaud-Basso, who will visit Montenegro for the first time, said that it was a country where, since its independence, the EBRD had already achieved some remarkable results.

“Montenegro is an important investment destination for us, one where we have already invested more than €800 million through 86 projects. Last year alone, the Bank invested €80 million in Montenegro and mobilised €25 million to support public and private investments,” stated Renaud-Basso.

She announced that she would use her visit to reiterate Bank’s unwavering support for the country and the implementation of reforms and necessary investments towards EU accession in line with EBRD’s strategic priorities such as its green transition agenda, private-sector capacity and connectivity, including cross-border transport, energy and digital links.

During her visit, Renaud-Basso will hold high-level meetings with Montenegro’s government and president. Among others, she will also meet civil society representatives and existing clients from the private sector, including local banks, to discuss further support for the private sector.
