The world’s best ski jumpers will compete in Rasnov next weekend at the Ski Jumping World Cup – Grand Prix, summer edition, according to a press release sent to AGERPRES.
“The event, which will take place at the Olympic Complex for Winter Sports in Rasnov between September 20 and 22, is a very important stage for athletes who want to collect points to qualify for the Winter Olympics,” the source said.
The competition in Rasnov is the first of this fall’s Grand Prix series, which will continue in Austria and Germany.
The competition will bring 82 elite athletes from 15 countries such as China, France, Italy, Japan, Norway, Poland, Slovenia, Ukraine, United States, Austria, Finland, Kazakhstan, Switzerland, Turkey, Romania.
“We hope that this competition will inspire new generations of athletes and show that Romania can become an important pole of winter sports internationally. Entry is free and we invite all those who want to see an exceptional sports show to come to Rasnov and be part of this unique experience,” said Puiu Gaspar, secretary general of the Romanian Ski Biathlon Federation.
The Grand Prix in Rasnov includes four individual stages, two women’s and two men’s, which will take place on September 21 and 22.
