During the recent years, Saranda resort has become one of the most favorite tourist destinations for foreign tourists who visit our country coming on cruises and tourist yachts.

Director of Saranda Port Alket Qendro told ATA that, “Since January up to the end of July, 32 cruises and tourist ships have arrived at the port of Saranda”.

According to him, during the summer there was a high number of luxury yachts that visited Saranda.

“In January-July, 511 tourist yachts were anchored in the port”, he added.

Qendro said that, “The cruises have had on board tourists on board from different countries of the world such as the USA, France, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Ecuador, Poland, etc.”

Qendro said that, “Only in the month of July, 9 tourist cruises and ferries, as well as 230 yachts visited the Port of Saranda”.

According to him, August and the 8th month of the current year as a whole are expected to record another increase compared to 2022.

Tourists who come by cruise have visited the tourist and archaeological sites of Saranda, Gjirokastra, as well as tasted the Albanian cuisine of the area
