ZAGREB, 4 June (Hina) – Finance Minister Marko Primorac said Croatia is actively promoting initiatives aimed at directing financial flows towards achieving climate and sustainability goals, the Ministry of Finance said in a statement on Wednesday.

Primorac took part in the Ministerial Council Meeting of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), held in Paris on Tuesday and Wednesday. Also attending were Foreign and European Affairs Minister Gordan Grlić-Radman and Economy Minister Ante Šušnjar.

The meeting focused on international cooperation in building crisis-resilient and inclusive economies, with an emphasis on sustainable development. Ministers also discussed fair trade rules, investment promotion and innovation as essential components of such economies. According to the Ministry’s statement, participants exchanged views on a range of issues aimed at strengthening global economic cooperation and resilience.

Primorac spoke at a session titled “Promoting inclusive economic growth to advance Members’ sustainable development objectives”, where he underscored that Croatia is actively pursuing initiatives that channel financial flows towards climate and sustainability objectives, using a mix of funding sources and financial mechanisms, national strategies, legislation and private sector engagement.

“In this regard, we particularly recognise the value and importance of the OECD as a platform for shared learning, dialogue and international partnership. Through inclusive standards and evidence-based best practices, the OECD helps us better align our economic, social and environmental policies. It is not just a source of technical excellence, but a catalyst for integrated and focused decision-making,” Primorac said.
