PM urges citizens to attend historic military parade featuring over 3,400 personnel

ZAGREB, 24 July (Hina) – Prime Minister Andrej Plenković has called on citizens to attend a historic military parade on 31 July, encouraging public support for the Armed Forces and describing the upcoming event as a landmark occasion involving more than 3,400 personnel. Speaking at the start of Thursday’s Cabinet meeting, Plenković said that over 20 formations will take part in the parade, including members of the Croatian Armed Forces, the Ministry of the Interior, Civil Protection Directorate, Croatian Mountain Rescue Service, judicial police, Croatian Firefighting Association, historical units, allied forces, and Croatian war veterans, “for whom this is primarily being held”.

In addition to marching units, the parade will include motorised and mechanised formations featuring over 500 combat and non-combat vehicles. Plenković also announced an impressive aerial display involving more than 40 aircraft from the Croatian Air Force and the Ministry of the Interior.

He added that the parade would culminate in a flyover of multi-role Rafale fighter jets.

A live video feed will also show a naval parade by the Croatian Navy. “The Navy’s vessels are already preparing for the event, and the public will have a rare opportunity to see the full capabilities of our Armed Forces and other security services,” said Plenković, highlighting the significance of years of investment and Croatia’s shift from Eastern to Western military technology.
