National Economy and Finance Minister and Eurogroup President Kyriakos Pierrakakis met Romanian Finance Minister Alexandru Nazare in Bucharest, during his visit to Romania on Friday. As in his earlier meeting with the Romanian president, he was accompanied by Deputy Economy and Finance Minister Thanos Petralias.

The meeting focused on the economic priorities of Greece and Romania, their public finances and reforms capable of supporting higher rates of growth and more investments. Special mention was made to the prospects for closer cooperation between the two finance ministries and the exchange of knowhow in fiscal policy matters, tax administration and digitalisation of the state.

The two ministers also discussed the priorities of the European economic agenda ahead of the upcoming ECOFIN Council meetings, with emphasis on competitiveness, boosting investments and maintaining fiscal discipline. At the same time, the agreed to keep in close contact and to further strengthen cooperation between Gr
