TIRANA, Aug 27 /ATA/ The number of foreign citizens who entered the Albanian territory during July this year recorded an increase of 2.7%, compared to July 2023, reaching 1 818 378.  

According to the report published by INSTAT on the movements of citizens, it turns out that during July this year 2 624 207 Albanian and foreign citizens entered our territory.

In total, there are 10.7 million citizens who entered Albania during the period January-July, among them, 6.3 million are foreigners, who have stated that the reason for visiting Albania is for holidays.  

Compared to the January-July period a year ago, the number of foreign citizens entering Albania increased by 23.2%.  

According to the report, 95% of foreign nationals’ arrivals in Albania are from the European region. Southern Europe makes up 71% of foreign national entries from the European continent, followed by Central/Eastern Europe with 10%.  

The purpose of foreign citizens entering the Albanian territory in 99% of cases is for personal purposes, dominated by the holidays, visit to relatives, etc. This indicator has marked an increase of 3.7%, compared to July 2023.  

The entry of foreign nationals for business and professional purposes saw a significant increase of 50.9% n July.
