Over 500 children from Ukraine attended Montenegrin schools

Podgorica, (MINA) – Over 500 children from Ukraine attended Montenegrin schools during 2022/2023 school year, while almost 40 Ukrainian university students attended Montenegrin universities, the Ministry of Education stated.

The Ministry told MINA News Agency that, according to the data from their information system, most Ukrainian children attend schools in Bar, Budva, Herceg Novi, Tivat and Kotor.

They said that they didn’t have final numbers regarding the number of Ukrainian children enrolled in the first grade of the 2023/2024 school year.

The Ministry of Education stated that they designed the support plan, guidelines for involving children, as well as grading them, as well as that they adapted a protocol for observing children with developmental disabilities.

The Ministry adds that they also organized mental health workshops, as well as supplementary Montenegrin language lessons which were attended by 200 students.
