The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has stated that she is against the discussion about the Iber Bridge in Brussels.

She said that she stands behind the earlier statements that the opening of the Iber Bridge should be done, but it should be done in coordination with the USA and NATO.

Osmani emphasized that this bridge should never have been closed, but it must be ensured that when it is opened, it remains so.

Meanwhile, Osmani calls the statements by the spokesperson of the European Union, Peter Stano, racist.

“Peace and security is a global issue, it is not individual, it is not only ours. It affects peace and security much more widely… In my meetings with the US (officials), it has never been said that they are against the opening of the bridge. On the contrary, they are in favor of the implementation of the agreements reached in Brussels which provided for the opening of the bridge… That bridge should never have been closed, that bridge was closed for purely political reasons. The bridge must be opened. But we have to make sure that when it opens, it stays open. And not when it opens to promote a much larger NATO presence there… We have no reason to have conflicts with our allies. They have saved us… As for the European Union, the statement of the spokesperson of these institutions is above all racist. Nor do I believe that they deserve more attention from my side… There is no reason and I oppose in any way the discussion of the question of opening the bridge in Brussels. We have nothing to ask Serbia. Dialogue with Serbia on this topic should not be accepted by anyone”, said Osmani.
