CEC BiH issues 59 fines with a total value of 233,500 KM to political subjects

SARAJEVO, August 15 (FENA) – Since the announcement of the Local Elections in 2024, the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CEC BiH) has issued 59 fines totaling 233,500 KM for violations of the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

These penalties are the result of premature campaigns, misuse of resources and paid election campaigns.

Most of the complaints related to the premature campaign, which is why the largest number of political entities, including those with multiple violations, were sanctioned.

Fines were imposed in the following amounts: 206,000 KM for a premature campaign, 15,500 KM for paid campaigns and 12,000 KM for misuse of resources.

When it comes to measures to remove disputed content, out of 25 decisions on punishment, 17 posts were not removed, while in other cases posters, video beams, content on social networks and similar materials were removed.
