The optimal collaboration between Greece and border control agency Frontex was discussed on Tuesday in a meeting between Shipping & Island Policy Minister Miltiadis Varvitsiotis and visiting Frontex Executive Director Hans Leijtens.
Beate Gminder, Deputy Director-General in charge of the Task Force Migration Management in the European Commission’s DG for Migration & Home Affairs, was also present in the meeting.
The Greek minister also briefed the Frontex officials on the ongoing investigation concerning the recent fatal Pylos shipwreck.
