Open streets/ Exhibitions, theater and circus performances over weekend, on Calea Victoriei

Exhibitions, theater performances, workshops and circus performances will take place during the weekend on Calea Victoriei, as part of the outdoor event “Open Streets, Bucharest – Urban Promenade”.

According to a press release from ARCUB, sent to AGERPRES on Thursday, the citizens of Bucharest are offered various ways to spend their free time in the city, such as pedestrian walks and theater performances for all ages, which will take place on Calea Victoriei, exhibitions and educational workshops organized at the Casa Filipescu-Cesianu and at the Bucharest Art School.

In addition to the program proposed in the framework of the “Open Streets, Bucharest – Urban Promenade” project, art lovers can explore the “Universe of Salvador Dali”, exhibition-phenomenon hosted in the generous spaces of the Gabroveni Inn, as well as the exhibition “Femininity of the past century. From Belle Epoque to the Interbellum”, from Casa Eliad.

On Saturday, starting at 11:00, the National Museum of Romanian Literature will be the host of the educational workshop for children “La povesti pe Calea Victoriei” (Storytelling on Calea Victoriei), coordinated by the representatives of the Da’DeCe Association, Iulia Iordan and Monica Bumbes, which will bring to the attention of the little explorers the rich history of this iconic street in Bucharest.

The children’s favorite meetings with the actors of the Tandarica Animation Theater continue this weekend with the “Freestyle Puppetry” animation show, which will be played both Saturday and Sunday, starting at 18:00, in the area of the National Art Museum of Romania (towards Kretzulescu Church).

The Bucharest Metropolitan Circus completes the atmosphere on Saturday evening, from 19:30, with acrobatic mini-shows full of energy and adrenaline that will take place on Calea Victoriei, in the area of the Romanian History Museum.

The Filipescu-Cesianu House of the Bucharest City Museum awaits visitors every weekend, between 10:00 and 17:30, at the permanent exhibitions “Museum of the Ages – from childhood to old age” and “Near the saints. The frescoes of the Vacaresti Monastery after 40 years”, which recreates the atmosphere of Bucharest from the 18th – 19th centuries through ceramic, porcelain and glass objects discovered near the Churches of St. Dumitru, Mavrogheni, Serafim Inn and in the Jewish Quarter.

On both days of the weekend, the Bucharest Art School invites the public of all ages to admire the talent and creativity of its students in a series of exhibitions of decorative art and iconography, painting, graphics and fashion design, which can be visited, during the time interval 15:00 – 20:30, at the headquarters in Cuza Voda street.
