One gold, two silver, two bronze medals for Romania at International Astronomy Olympiad
Romania won a gold medal, two silver medals and two bronze medals at the International Astronomy Olympiad, the 27th edition, which takes place in Beijing, from November 6 to 14.
The Romanian team was made up of five students, three juniors and two seniors, respectively a special invited student, a gold medalist at the previous edition, according to the Olympic regulations, the Ministry of Education stated on Monday, on its Facebook page.
According to the ministry, the Romanian students obtained the following results:
* gold medal, special prize for the best competitor in the theoretical test and absolute winner: Dragomir Andrei-Darius, Bucharest International Theoretical High School of Informatics, 12th grade (senior);
* two silver medals: Mendelsohn Mendel Emanuel, Bucharest International Theoretical High School of Informatics, 11th grade (senior) and Ciocarlan David, Bucharest International Theoretical High School of Informatics, 11th grade (senior guest);
* two bronze medals: Bichir Teodor, Bucharest International Theoretical Informatics High School, 10th grade (junior) and Pasca Nectarie, Emil Racovita National College Cluj-Napoca, 10th grade (junior);
* a certificate of participation – Palaghianu David, National College Stefan cel Mare Suceava, 9th grade (junior).
