The number of tropical days, when the maximum daily air temperature reaches or exceeds 30°C, was above average in June, said the Institute for Hydrometeorology and Seismology (ZHMS).
The Institute stated that June was extremely warm in Podgorica and Niksic, and very warm in other parts of Montenegro.
The average air temperature, it was added, ranged from 15.6 °C in Žabljak to 28.2 °C in Podgorica.
ZHMS stated that, in terms of record-high values, this June was the warmest in Kolasin and Niksic, while in Berane, however, June last year was warmer, while in Podgorica, it the warmest June was in 2003.
They added that the highest number of tropical days was recorded this June in Bar, Berane, Bijelo Polje, Cetinje, Niksic and Ulcinj.
