News agencies are working to do more for the safety of journalists

KosovaPress is making an extraordinary contribution to make Kosovo known beyond its borders, director Suzana Rakovica-Hashani said. At the start of the international conference “Freedom of Speech Borders”, in honor of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the KosovaPress News Agency, she said that the public’s interest in being informed accurately is vital.

She welcomed all media representatives, where more than 20 world news agencies from all over Europe and the Balkans have joined today in the capital. At the opening of the first panel on the topic “What are the challenges for the News Agencies in the recent period?”, the director of KosovaPress News Agency, mentioned the agreements with the media in the Balkans and Europe.

The director of KosovaPress said that the public’s interest in accurate and fair information is vital.

Whereas, the director of the Press Association, Alan Marshall, has stated that misinformation and fake content are a major challenge facing the media.

At the international conference “Freedom of Speech Borders”, in honor of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the KosovaPress News Agency, Marshall said that they are trying to see who their audience is in order to verify the news.

Natalia Kostina from the Ukrainian News Agency UKRINFORM said that over 90 percent of fake news in Ukraine has a Russian source. According to her, the Ukrainian people and the journalists themselves are paying the high price of freedom of expression and independence.

The media today is facing difficult times, where wars are taking place in the world and news agencies are working to do more for the safety of journalists. This is what the president of the Greek News Agency ANA-MPA, Aimilios Perdiakris stated at the international conference “Freedom of Speech Borders”.

On this occasion, he congratulated KosovaPress on the 25th anniversary of its establishment, while he spoke about the era in which the media are operating today, he emphasized that as an agency they are working to constantly do more for the safety of journalists.

Camille Boissou from the French news agency AFP, has stated that the challenges to media freedom are increasing more and more but news agencies should try to be immune until the polarizations calm down.

The founder and leader of UBT, Edmond Hajrizi, spoke about artificial intelligence and the ways in which it is being used by students and professors. At the international conference “Freedom of Speech Borders”, hosted by KosovaPress News Agency, he said that they managed to test human health through 120 parameters.
