Russia shows weakness by creating chaos in Africa-Ukraine leader
(ANSA) – ROME, SEP 1 – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Friday that he never had any doubts about Italy’s support for Kyiv after the Russian invasion.
“Our cooperation with Italy is fundamental every day,” Zelensky said via a video link to annual The European House-Ambrosetti Forum in Cernobbio.
“We have never had any doubts about the strength of Italy’s decisions regarding support for Ukraine.
“We want to thank Italy for the political support it has given us and also the EU for supporting our candidacy (to join the bloc) and commitments to ensure the security of our country”.
Zelensky said that the death of Yevgeny Prigozhin, the leader of the Wagner mercenary group, showed that “you cannot negotiate” with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
He added that Moscow was showing “weakness” by “trying to create chaos in Africa”. (ANSA).
