National Gallery to present multimedia project ‘Bathing’ by Dorian Jovanovikj and Stefan Shashkov
This video and sound installation is the National Gallery’s final project in 2023.
“The aim of this project is to symbolically extend the tradition of the hammam as a space for purification, introducing a new dimension by cleansing perceptions through visual and audio-visual ‘cosmetic’ methods,” the National Gallery said in a press release.
The visual-illumination aspect incorporates videos and sounds projected onto the walls. Visitors, through their shadows, will contribute an unpredictable dynamic to the overall visual space, ensuring a unique experience that cannot be reproduced in any circumstance, the National Gallery added.
