More passengers at airports

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Podgorica and Tivat airports have seen a significant growth in the number of passengers compared with 2019, with data showing that total growth exceeded 16 percent last year.

Good connectivity, both by road and air, is key to the development of Montenegro’s transport and tourism infrastructure, especially during the summer months when passenger traffic peaks, TVCG reports.

“Compared with 2019, total passenger traffic at Podgorica and Tivat airports increased by slightly more than 16 percent last year,” says a press release published on the RTCG web portal.

Podgorica Airport recorded growth of around 35 percent compared with 2019. On the other hand, Tivat Airport has not yet reached the traffic level seen in 2019, although recording continuous growth in passenger numbers.

Although passenger numbers are increasing, the question arises of how to ensure adequate and efficient handling of the growing number of passengers, particularly during periods of seasonal pressure when terminals and infrastructure are under the greatest strain.
