Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to the Ministry of Finance Montenegro is entering a period of stronger economic growth, increased investment, rising employment and greater resilience to global challenges, as confirmed by the 3.8 percent growth rate recorded in the second quarter.
“Montenegro’s economy is growing strongly, as confirmed by the 3.8 percent growth rate in the second quarter, one of the highest rates of economic growth in Europe and significantly above the eurozone’s growth of just one percent,” the Ministry said in a press release.
According to the Ministry, this is not merely a figure reflecting growth in gross domestic product (GDP), but clear confirmation that Montenegro’s economy is gaining strong development momentum.
“Particularly encouraging is the fact that growth accelerated significantly in the second quarter compared with the first quarter, when it stood at 2.6 percent. In other words, Montenegro’s economy is not only growing, but growing at an accelerating pace,” the Ministry said.
The 3.8 percent growth was accompanied by strong economic activity across key segments. Gross fixed capital formation increased by 9.4 percent, private consumption by 2.5 percent, while exports of goods and services rose by 2.2 percent.
“These indicators confirm that growth is not based on a single sector, but on broader economic activity,” the press release said.
