Podgorica, (MINA) – The EU must acknowledge the undeniable result Montenegro achieved and respond adequately to them, said Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis during the meeting with his Montenegrin counterpart Milojko Spajic, who is paying a working visit to Athens.
Aaccording to the press release from Spajic’s cabinet, Mitsotakis said that Montenegro is a bright spot in the Western Balkans and that in a short period it accomplished significantly more than other countries in the EU accession process.
During the meeting, which focused on the economic cooperation, it was assessed that strengthening transportation connectivity is a mutual priority and that, in terms of that, intensive efforts are needed.
The interlocutors agreed that Montenegro has the potential to further establish itself as an investment destination, as well as that it must closer collaborate with the existing investors, who are the best ambassadors in this respect.
Mitsotakis said that the Greek entrepreneurs are even more interested in participating in the international tenders and direct investments in the Western Balkans now that the crisis is over.
The press release adds that a visit by the Greek PM with an economic delegation will be organized in the coming period to discuss potential investments and energize economic exchange.
Spajic, according to the press release, introduced Mitsotakis with the Government’s reform activities, highlighting that the situation has significantly shifted in the past six months in favor of Montenegro’s certain EU perspective.
“We will seize the momentum to intensify the talks and bring the accession process to its final stage”, said Spajic.
