TIRANA, January 24 /ATA/ Director Piro Milkani promoted in Prague his book of memories entitled “Unbelievable, but true”. The promotion event was held in one of the most symbolic premises of the Czech capital, in the “Vaclav Havel” bookstore.
The book “Unbelievable, but true” was translated into Czech by Albanianologist Přemysl Vinš, under the support of the National Book and Reading Center.
An evening of confessions and memories brought together well-known figures of Czech and Albanian culture, such as the actress Barbora Štěpánová (protagonist in the film “The Sadness of Mrs. Schneider”), the producer Jana Tomsova, writers and readers.
In a post by the National Book and Reading Center in the social media, there were singled out some lines from filmmaker and poet Petrit Ruka dedicated to Piro Milkani: “If his long life as an artist (like the life of every person) is a river, Milkani has been sitting on his bank, sieve in hand washing away all the sand of the shore to find some gold nuggets, similar to the old researchers of gold in Alaska, as described by Jack London. This time, he is not the director, nor the script-writer. On the contrary, his life is like that, and Milkani has only shot those episodes that life has dictated him, the memory of a lifetime.”/
