Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The minimum wages need to be increased, but equally for everyone and without discrimination,” stated President of Montenegro Jakov Milatovic.
“The consumer basket is the same for everyone. That’s why the minimum wage must be increased equally for all,” Milatovic posted on the platform X.
He pointed out that the minimum wage had significantly lost its purchasing power recently.
“Currently, the minimum wage can only buy 50 percent, or half, of the consumer basket. This means that due to the significant increase in prices, a portion of the population is once again in a state of social need,” Milatovic concluded.
