Minister of Tourism, Ecology, Sustainable Development and Northern Region Development Vladimir Martinovic has said that, according to the latest statistics from the National Tourism Organization (NTO), 91,600 tourists are currently staying in Montenegro, which is 3.12 percent more than the same period last year, stated.
In an interview with Mina-business agency, Martinovic said that, compared to the statistics from 20 June, there were 17,210 more tourists in Montenegro last Thursday.
“The expectations for this year’s tourist season are positive, and we believe that we will be satisfied with the results. We have also seen positive results in the number of tourists staying in hotels. On 27 June, 35,770 tourists were staying in hotels, which is 7.74 percent more compared to the same period last year,” said Martinovic. He noted that these trends gave them the reason to be optimistic and expect a successful summer season.
“As I have emphasized multiple times, the preparations for a successful season are not only the responsibility of the Ministry of Tourism but also other stakeholders whose activities contribute to creating the prerequisites for a good business environment for tourism activities,” Martinovic said in answer to the question concerning the readiness for the summer season.
As he explained, the Ministry prepares, and the Government adopts a programme of preparations for the summer season, which is a compilation of activities of all stakeholders at the national and local levels, which influence the final results.
