On the occasion of International Women’s Day – March 8, some citizens have shared their thoughts and messages regarding the importance of this day and the role that women have in the family and in society. They emphasized the need for more respect, appreciation and gratitude for the contribution and sacrifices that women make every day, reports KosovaPress.

One of the citizens, Erisa Azemi, said that this day should be a moment of reflection for everyone, in order to appreciate the role and dedication of women more.

“For me, March 8 is women’s day where today, more than every day, women should be appreciated, the sacrifices we make and all the love we give them”, says Azemi.

She said that on this day she had received flowers from her friend, with whom she said they have been friends for 11 years. According to her, on symbolic occasions like March 8, they often exchange gifts with each other, while flowers are among the most common gifts.

Meanwhile, citizen Naime Makolli spoke about the strength and efforts of women over the years, emphasizing the long road they have taken to get here.

“March 8 symbolizes the strength of women that we have, and that we have tried our whole lives to get to where we are today, and we are only just getting there”, said Makolli.

On this symbolic day, male citizens also sent messages of congratulations and appreciation for women. Ilaz Selmani wished health and well-being to all mothers and families.

“I wish you all the best in health, that your families are well, and congratulations to all mothers,” said Selmani.

He also said that to mark this day he had bought flowers for his two daughters.

Meanwhile, citizen Zeqir Buzuku emphasized the importance of respect for women and their irreplaceable role in the family and society. He also added a message about the respect that men should have towards women at all times.

“May all women be happy and may we men also have a lot of respect for them, first of all for mothers, for women, for girls, for all women,” said Buzuku.

Among other things, he said that he had been married for 57 years and according to him, one of the main elements for a happy family life is cooperation and understanding between spouses.

“The secret is to find cooperation with the wife, it is always good to consult with the wife if there is cooperation and understanding, the wife for you and you for the wife, then you continue to have a happy married life,” said Buzuku.

Citizens’ messages show that March 8 continues to be seen not only as a day of celebration, but also as a moment of reflection to appreciate the sacrifices, dedication and important role that women have in the family, in the community and in society in general.
