Malaysia grants visa exemptions for Kosovo

On the occasion of Malaysia’s decision to lift visa requirements for Kosovo citizens for stays of up to 30 days, President Vjosa Osmani announced that she will visit Malaysia next week, KosovaPress reports.

“Ahead of my official visit to Malaysia next week, I am deeply grateful to the Malaysian authorities for their decision to grant visa exemptions for all citizens of the Republic of Kosovo for stays of up to 30 days,” Osmani wrote on X.

This step, along with the upcoming opening of the Embassy of Kosovo in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur, proves that the relations between these two countries are being strengthened “more and more each day,” according to Osmani.

She expressed gratitude towards Malaysian institutions for this significant decision.

“I extend my sincere gratitude to the Malaysian institutions for this meaningful decision. I look forward to engaging with state leaders next week as we work together to deepen our cooperation and advance the shared interests of our people”, she added.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also announced that, by decision of the Government of Malaysia, citizens of the Republic of Kosovo can now travel to Malaysia without a visa for a period not exceeding thirty (30) days.

“The Republic of Kosovo welcomes this positive step and expresses gratitude to the Malaysian institutions for their continuous cooperation and support in serving the citizens and strengthening the ever-growing bilateral ties between our two countries,” stated Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Donika Gërvalla.
