Skopje, 17 September 2026 (MIA) — The Macedonian Heritage Foundation (maticanaiselenici.com) will celebrate its 75th anniversary Thursday evening at the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle for Independence.
At the event, longtime journalist Fidanka Tanaskova will speak about the institution connecting Macedonia with its global diaspora and emigrant communities since 1951.
The foundation will also launch its new release, a monograph titled “The Macedonian Heritage Foundation: 75 Years of Macedonian Heritage Around the World.”
Literary historian Vasil Tocinovski will speak about the book, written by Katerina Todoroska, Elena Orovchanec Spiroska and Kristijan Petreski.
Over the past seven and a half decades, the Macedonian Heritage Foundation has contributed greatly to affirming Macedonian national and cultural identity abroad.
It has fostered ties by initiating folklore, arts and heritage projects. It has organized numerous events in Macedonian communities in Europe, Australia, North America and other parts of the world. It has published Macedonian-language magazines, as well.
The new monograph details the foundation’s history with archival materials and highlights its role in preserving the Macedonian language and culture beyond the borders of the country.
