Limassol is visible in an image acquired by Sentinel2 satellites

The city of Limassol is visible in an image acquired by Sentinel2 satellites from CopernicusEU.

According to the Eratosthenes Center of Excellence of the Cyprus University of Technology, the Sentinel2 sattelites have a Multispectral Instrument – MSI, which records data in 13 spectral bands, including the visible spectrum and near-infrared.

This allows them to produce high-resolution color images, and be used in various applications, such as agriculture, forest monitoring, water resources and disaster management.

The Center of Excellence uses data from the Copernicus program, which is a European program that aims to provide full, free and open access to data and information about the planet and the environment.
