(ANSA) – ROME, JUL 22 – The presence of elderly people in families and communities is precious and they should not be left alone, Pope Francis said on Saturday.
“Let us not leave the elderly alone, their presence in families and communities is precious,” said the pope in a tweet ahead of the World Day of Grandparents and the Elderly on Sunday.
“It gives us the awareness of sharing the same inheritance and of being part of a people whose roots are cherished.
#Anniversaries #laityfamilylife” added the 86-year-old pontiff.
