Kurti: My heart melts when I see that children love the Kosova Police

On the eve of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Kosovo Police (KP), a series of activities were held in “Zahir Pajaziti” square, including the demonstration of some special units of KP, the presentation of the Drone and Anti-Drone Unit, the Dog Unit, the Unit for handling explosive devices (NJTME), and others.

In addition to these, there were activities for children as well, such as basketball games, making drawings for the Police, music and modern dance by the Police and the children.

The Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti participated in this organization, while he expressed his happiness for the love that the children have for the Kosova Police, he emphasized that they will take care that all those who have the will to become part of the KP.

“Now the new school year has started and my heart melts when I see that children and students love the Kosova Police, which protects our Republic, enforces the law and serves all citizens without distinction… We will take care for all those who have the will and preparation to become police officers in order to guarantee our safety and the rule of law. You must learn as much as possible, because you are both the present and the future of our country”, said Kurti.

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, expressed his satisfaction for the determination, excitement and willingness of the children to serve the country in the future by becoming part of the Kosova Police.

“It’s really a pleasure to be among these kids. You said the present, but the future will be much better than now. Seeing this determination, excitement, this love of the police for the children, and this love of the children for the police, I wish everyone success in life, I take the opportunity to wish the 25th anniversary of the Kosova Police, to have as many successes and as little work as possible”, said Sveçla.

Meanwhile, the Director General of the Kosova Police, Gazmend Hoxha, said that the capacities of the police have been developed, thus managing to gain the trust of the citizens with the police force.

He emphasized that the safety of the citizens of Kosovo is guaranteed because, according to him, future generations are expressing the will and passion to join the Kosova Police.

“We are happy and satisfied that we are celebrating this anniversary. We have grown as a police force, we have developed our capacities, but above all I think we have grown to win and maintain the trust of our citizens with our police force. This is the biggest thing, because we are the police of this people… and our country; protecting our borders, protecting the safety of our children, our citizens, our workers, our teachers… The safety of our citizens is guaranteed because we have future generations who have the will, desire and passion to join the police to serve their country and citizens”, said Hoxha.

Lieutenant Shukri Islami presented some of the exposed equipment used by the unit for dealing with explosive devices. Frequency jammer, suit robot, and anti drone are some of the devices for which Islami showed their function.

“Today we have exposed some of the equipment used by the unit for dealing with explosive devices. The first device is a frequency jammer, which is used in cases where we suspect remote-controlled explosive devices. We have a robot anti-bomb protective suit, which the operator wears in cases when he goes to a vehicle that is suspected of being an explosive device, and we also have the anti-drone device which is used in cases when we have a drone flying that is suspicious… It is also the robot that is controlled through the command from a distance. It is used in cases where we suspect that it is an explosive device and in order not to endanger the operator, in some cases we send the robot”, said Islami.

These activities have started a few days ago and will continue until the central ceremony which will be held on September 6, where high state dignitaries, senior management of KP, as well as dignitaries from Kosovo, the region and beyond are expected to participate.
