Kurti inaugurates the Coronary Care Unit, promises better conditions for patients and medical staff

Kosovo’s Coronary Care Unit has been inaugurated following a €211,000 investment aimed at improving treatment conditions for patients and working conditions for healthcare staff.

Prime Minister Albin Kurti said investments at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (UCCK) are transforming hospital spaces, equipping them with modern technology, and improving services for citizens. “Step by step, the facilities at UCCK are being renovated so extensively that they are being transformed. With each investment, modern equipment is also being provided, better conditions for patients to recover are being created, and at the same time, greater opportunities for their recovery are being made possible, as these conditions are also intended for those who care for patients, specialist doctors and nurses. Today, we are here to inaugurate the transformed Coronary Care Unit at the Cardiology Clinic, with an investment of €211,000. The results of this support can be seen here in the clinic’s daily work and in the quality services our citizens receive,” Kurti said.

Meanwhile, Luxembourg’s Ambassador to Kosovo, Eric Dietz, described the inauguration of the unit as another important step in cooperation between the two countries in the healthcare sector.

He said the new facilities, additional beds, and advanced equipment would enable safer treatment for patients, while the capacity of the Cardiology Clinic is expected to increase by 30 to 40 percent.

According to the ambassador, more than 3,000 patients have benefited from the services of the cardiac catheterization laboratory since its inauguration in November last year.
