Minister of Tourism and Environment Mirela Kumbaro stated today that 8.3 million tourists visited Albania from January to September, surpassing the figures of 2022 while 2023 is being confirmed as the best year of tourism.
The minister shared in social media an informative video on the progress of tourist flows year after year, where there is noticed the progressive increase of tourists who choose to come to Albania.
Kumbaro emphasized that according to the latest data on tourist flows, 1.1 million foreign tourists visited the country only in September.
According to statistics published by Kumbaro, in 2013 Albania recorded 3.4 million foreign visitors; in 2014, 3.6 million foreign tourists; in 2015, 4.1 million foreign tourists; in 2016, 4.7 million foreign tourists and in 2017, 5.1 million foreign visitors.
The progressive increase in the number of foreign tourists who visited the country continues in 2018 with 5.9 million visitors and in 2019 with 6.4 million foreign visitors.
2020 is an exception because due to pandemic only 2.6 million foreign visitors visited Albania.
The significant increase in the number of tourists continues in 2021 with 5.6 million visitors, in 2022 with 7.5 million visitors and in the period January-September 2023, there were registered 8.3 million foreign visitors.
