BiH CoM passes a decision on displaying the EU flag on the buildings of the state institutions

The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at the proposal of the Office of the Chairperson Krišto, unanimously adopted the Decision on displaying the flag of the European Union (EU) in ministries, administrative organizations and other bodies of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but with a new text of the law.

By displaying the EU flag next to the BiH flag, the Council of Ministers of BiH, after Bosnia and Herzegovina received candidate status, expresses commitment to the goals and European values on which the EU rests, such as respect for human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, rule rights and respect for human rights, including the rights of members of minorities, in a society where pluralism, non-discrimination, tolerance, justice, solidarity and equality of women and men prevail.

According to the Decision, in addition to the flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the flag of the European Union is displayed on the building where the seat of the ministry, administrative organization and other bodies established by the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina are located. The priority in displaying the flags is given to the flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

When displayed side by side, the flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina is to the left, seen from the front, in relation to the flag of the European Union.

This decision enters into force on the eighth day from the day of its publication in the Official Gazette of Bosnia and Herzegovina, announced the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
