The Kosovo Security Force has taken an important step towards deepening cooperation in the fields of security and technology with the United States of America.
During an official ceremony held today in Pristina, KSF Commander Lieutenant General Bashkim Jashari and Director of J6 at the U.S. European Command (EUCOM), Major General John Phillips, signed the Communications and Interoperability Security Memorandum of Agreement (CISMOA).
This memorandum represents a key defense agreement between the U.S. Department of Defense and the KSF, enabling secure information exchange, communication encryption, and the use of advanced military technology.
With this act, Kosovo becomes the 33rd global partner to sign the CISMOA, as announced by the U.S. Embassy in Pristina, which emphasized that this agreement “enhances secure communications and interoperability” between the forces of both countries. In an official post, the Embassy highlighted:
“A significant step forward to make both our nations stronger and safer. Congratulations to KSF!”
During the meeting, Lieutenant General Jashari thanked Major General Phillips for the correct and professional cooperation between the KSF and EUCOM, emphasizing the importance of the strategic partnership with the U.S., especially in the fields of cybersecurity and communications. The CISMOA agreement is expected to further strengthen Kosovo’s defense capabilities and bring the country closer to advanced international defense cooperation standards./
